THE TEAM

Mame-Fatou was born in Dakar, Senegal and received her higher education in both France and the US. She conducts research on contemporary France, Sub-Saharan Africa, Francophone female writers, Postcolonial and Transnational Studies, Media, and Urban Planning. Her recent research examines the development of Afro-French identities, and the works of second- and third-generation female immigrant writers of the banlieue. She is currently a professor at Carnegie Mellon University in the Department of Modern languages.

KAYTIE NIELSEN

Kaytie was born and raised in Flower Mound, Texas. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2016 and is the Director of Video Production for Round Room Image, a multidisciplinary artistic company. She is a 2016-2017 Luce Scholar, through which she is currently working at the Jamun Collective in New Delhi, India. She has directed several short documentary films for social justice organizations, as well as politically engaged music videos for up and coming artists.
