Fati is an entrepreneur and culinary enthusiast. She is the creator of Black Spoon, the first African food truck in Europe, operating in the heart of the Paris business district, Esplanade de la Défense. She aims to introduce Parisians to new kinds of cuisine and in the process open dialogues for broader cultural exchange.
Aline is the founder and manager of Boucles d’Ebène, one of the only salons in the Paris area that caters to natural hair for Black men and women. In addition to running her business, she also holds a yearly hair conference under her salon’s brand that attracts thousands of people and over a hundred companies, promoting Afro-pean beauty and culture.
Bintou is one of the early pioneers of French hip hop choreography. She completed a residency at la Halle aux Cuirs of the Parc de la Villette where she created “Mon appart’ en dit long,” a movement piece exploring the challenges of womanhood in the public sphere. One of her most acclaimed pieces, “ZH,” uses dance to examine human zoos in France in the late 19th-century, and how these colonial mechanisms continue to affect French society in the present.
